Tea & Health

Picture
The great thing about our tea is that not only does it have virtually zero calories and taste amazing, it also has many surprising health benefits that are continually proven through research. Let us educate you on all of the amazing benefits of our tea collection.

One word: antioxidants. Our black, green, oolong, white and rooibos teas all contain antioxidants that fight off free radicals, which are basically harmful ultraviolet rays and pollution that can cause cancer, wrinkles, dark spots, and other diseases.1 That makes tea a pretty good defense mechanism for the every day!

Different varieties of our tea also have specific and drink-worthy benefits, read on to learn more...

Black tea
is an excellent pick me up. Black tea contains caffeine and can help you get your day started by increasing your concentration and alertness, and can even kick-start your digestive system. Not a bad way to start your day, eh? But, not only that, research indicates that it may help reduce the risk of cancer, heart attacks and strokes when consumed regularly – so drink up!

Green tea
may help to prevent aging and keep you slim and trim. Studies have shown that individuals who regularly drink green tea have a lower chance of cognitive impairment as they age. Also, further research indicates that green tea has thermogenic properties, meaning it will help burn fat.1 The perfect tea to help keep your mind young and body lean.

Oolong tea
has been proven as an aid in weight loss, similar to green tea. But, not only that, it also can help keep your smile pearly white. Oolong contains the enzyme that fights streptococci bacteria, which causes plaque buildup on teeth.3 So, in a nutshell, oolong helps prevent tooth decay and cavities. We would say that’s a pretty good tea accomplishment!

White tea
contributes overall to a healthy body and healthy skin. It has less caffeine than black, oolong or green tea, so it’s the perfect cup for those more sensitive to caffeine. It is even suggested by doctors as an alternative, and completely natural, medicine for high blood pressure. So relax, and steep one today.

Rooibos tea is 100% caffeine free and very brag worthy. It’s amazing for the entire body, both inside and out.

Need something to soothe the skin? Rooibos tea is known for its calming effect, especially for eczema, sun burns and acne. Try having a bath with rooibos instead of bubbles. It will leave your skin feeling calm and refreshed. We are serious – it’s even an ingredient in cosmetics.

Need a hangover cure? We have your answer. Rooibos tea has zero caffeine, a high concentration of antioxidants and helps with stomach pains. Drink a cup after a wild night and you will be feeling better much sooner. And of course, we can’t forget its ability to help provide an overall peaceful sleep. It’s been known to help with insomnia and sleep disorders.

Herbal tea
is actually not made from the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant like black, green, oolong and white tea. It’s made up of herbs, fruits, nuts, seeds, and other edible ingredients (yes, you can actually eat most herbal teas). So, the benefit of herbal tea really depends on the particular tea and its ingredients. Check out our herbal teas to learn more.
